The owners of Moore Art Supplies believe in community connections – so much so that it can be seen throughout our Vision, Values, and Goals Statements as well as in our everyday operations.
We’re always interested in working with other businesses and organizations in and around the Conway area to support each other, and most of all, support the arts community.
Each semester we reach out to the local college art professors and instructors and offer our services and assistance with their supply lists and student needs. We’ve successfully created “supply packets” for over 200 students in the first year of operations. This service has been proven to be highly effective and beneficial for the students, the professors/instructors, and for us as well.
We proudly support and partner with “The Van” as their official “Donation Drop Off” location for Conway. Anytime we’re open, you’re welcome to bring in donations (clothing, blankets, bottled water, etc) – in an effort to support their outreach to end homelessness in Central Arkansas. Throughout the year we do several creative events as donation drives to help boost our support in their outreach efforts.
Broken China Jewelry is a creative fundraising project that we participate in by offering these unique, hand created jewelry pieces for sale in our store. All proceeds from the sale of Broken China Jewelry goes back to the Women’s Shelter in effort to support their work with women and children in the Faulkner County (and surrounding areas) who are seeking protection and relief from domestic violence situations. Actively donating silent auction items and participating in their “Great Escape” event, we are happy to connect and work with such an organization doing such vital work.
At ‘certain’ times of the year, we do a food drive and collect pantry/food items in support of the “Certain Little Free Class Pantry”. This is a project of local high school art teacher, Crystal Certain, who created the pantry with the mission to help alleviate food insecurity in the student population at Conway High School. The pantry operates under the idea of “Take what you need, give what you can”. This allows students to participate and take ownership of the project they often donate food, money, and time to help their classmates. For more information and to follow along with the Pantry’s progress, check them out on Facebook at “Certain Little Free Class Pantry“.
Artists In Our Midst – Facebook Group
From attending their events to brainstorming ideas with their members, this is a group of artists who are active and involved in their community. We’re happy to offer our support for their creative efforts, events and talents!
From their page: “The Artists in our midst are often silent and unnoticed. But by… their quiet presence, they make our lives better. Some artists in our midst are anything but silent. By their dynamic engagement with the world, they challenge, inspire and excite us. Whatever kind of artist you are, this is a place to celebrate your passion, find support, share your work and just have fun.
Our group celebrates the artists in the midst of Arkansas. We are grateful to Big Cuppa coffee in Morrilton for providing space as our “home gallery”. We organize several exhibits and events at Big Cuppa throughout the year including the annual “Art for the Birds” exhibit, our anniversary show “New Light” and Pecha Kucha Nights. We also appreciate the opportunity to exhibit work at the Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce, Morrilton City Hall, the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM), and Movie House Winery. We also organize “Artists of the Galaxy” each February with the Conway County Library Association.
We have no budget and this is essentially a volunteer effort. We want to have fun – which means whenever someone has an idea about something to do, we’re glad to make it happen. If this sounds like something you’d like to do, join our group! You’ll be glad you did.”
In support of other non-profit organizations, groups, projects and events throughout the Conway and surrounding area, we’ve provided studio/classroom and gallery space as well as a variety of creative door prize and silent auction items. We’re happy to talk with you about how we can work together with your business and/or organization to support the arts in our community, provide needed supplies, gallery space, and/or studio/classroom space, or just simply partner creatively on any projects or events you’re involved in.
